Reopening

BTT Canada West Island / Vaudreuil Reopening Protocols

The World Health Organization has declared the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) a worldwide pandemic. Due to its capacity to transmit from person-to-person through respiratory droplets, the provincial government has set recommendations, guidelines, and some prohibitions.  As a result, members of BTT Canada West Island / Vaudreuil (“BTT”) must comply with the following Reopening Protocols to participate in any and all BTT programs. These protocols will be modified as needed.

  1. All members must wear a mask upon arrival, as well as when circulating in the facilities. The mask may be removed once settled in your training zone. The masks are mandatory; for those who do not have a mask, disposable masks will be available for $2.00 + taxes.
  2. Each class has 3 to 6 training zones, that are carefully placed 2 meters from each other. Each training zone can be occupied by a solo member, a pair, or a group of 4.
  3. Instructors and members must keep a 2-meter distance from each other, unless when demonstrating a technique, where the instructor will wear a mask or face shield.
  4. The lobby and waiting area will be closed for the moment, so we ask parents to drop-off their children no more than 10 minutes before class and pick them up immediately after class.
  5. For children under 5 years old, a maximum of 1 parent and/or family member can accompany the child into the academy, and can remain in the waiting area for the duration of the class, while wearing a mask, and keeping a 2-meter distance from others.
  6. Each member must wash their hands for at least 20 seconds, using soap and water, before and after each class, or use hand sanitizer available at our facilities.
  7. Please wash your Gi, rash guard, and all training attire after each class.
  8. Please wear sandals or clean shoes when walking around the facilities. You must sanitize your feet before stepping on the mats.
  9. Please bring your own filled water bottle. Water fountains will not be accessible, and drinks will not be sold for the moment.
  10. Please arrive dressed in your Gi. Access to the changing rooms will be limited to 2 people at a time.
  11. Please refrain from using the washrooms unless it is necessary.
  12. Refrain from touching your face, mouth, nose, and eyes during class. If you must do so, make sure to sanitize your hands.
  13. Cough or sneeze into your elbow, and not your hands.
  14. We ask that you arrive no more than 5 minutes before class and leave 5 minutes after classes are over to allow for proper cleaning in between each session.
  15. You may only train at one BTT location
  16. The weight room will be off limits for the moment.
  17. No sign-in is required upon arrival, the instructor will mark your presence.
  18. Please be on time, as the doors will be locked during classes to avoid traffic.
  19. For everyone’s safety, our staff will be conducting regular self-assessments to monitor their health.
  20. For the time being, the reception area will be closed. For all inquiries, you may contact us by phone or email.
  21. Sanitizer will be available throughout the facilities.
  22. If you have tested positive for Covid-19, or experienced symptoms of fever, fatigue, difficulty in breathing, or dry cough or exhibited any other symptoms relating to COVID-19 within the last 14 days, please stay home.
